A short guide

Sending save the dates

What goes on one, and when it goes out.

  1. Six months ahead

That is when they should be in the post for most weddings; give a destination wedding eight to twelve. Order ours at least 29 weeks before the day and they arrive in time to address.

  2. Names, date, town, and the code

That is all a save the date has to say. Everything that will change, from the hotel block to the running order, belongs on the wedding page the code opens, where you can change it.

  3. One link for the whole wedding

The code on the save the date is the same one on the invitation, the tables and the thank-you card, so guests who scanned it in spring are already at home in your gallery on the night.

  4. Send one to everyone you are inviting

A save the date is a promise of an invitation, so it goes only to people who will get one. The RSVP comes later, from the invitation or the wedding page.

FAQ

Save the date questions

When should we send save the dates?

About six months before the wedding, or eight to twelve months for a destination wedding. To have ours in hand six months ahead, order at least 29 weeks before the day; your dashboard works out the exact date from yours.

What does the QR code on a save the date do?

It opens your wedding page: the countdown, your story, the day’s running order, travel and hotels, your registry and the RSVP. Guests keep coming back to the same link, and on the day it becomes the gallery they post their photos to. How the code works.

Cards or magnets?

Both carry the same design and the same code. A card goes into an envelope and, often, a drawer. A magnet goes on the fridge and stays at eye level until the wedding, with the code there to scan the moment somebody wants to check a detail.

Do you mail them to our guests?

No. They are shipped together to you with matching envelopes, so you can address and send them yourselves. Postage is not included.

Can we use a design of our own?

Yes. Upload your own finished design as a PDF for the front, and we print it with your code on the back.

One QR code. Every photo your guests took. Turned into things you can hold.

Make your wedding page and its code in about five minutes, then choose the save the dates to go with it.
